History
How does one turn cancer in an eye and the subsequent loss of that eye into a blessing to the glory of God? Back in the early 1980's, a noted Christian male vocal Soloist named Ron Hamilton did just that.
After the surgery in which his cancerous eye was removed, he was given a patch to wear. Kids innocently identified the resulting image as that of a pirate. Rather than becoming bitter, he recognized their perception and enthusiasm as evidence of a unique opportunity from God. And so, the ministry of Patch the Pirate Clubs Began. Today, these clubs for boys and girls, ages five through twelve, are flourishing in churches and Christian schools around the country.
Goals
The purpose of the clubs is to help children come to Christ, grow in His love, and establish godly character and habits by the time they reach their teen years.
Please take time to Listen to this song written by Ron Hamilton (Patch the Pirate) shortly after his trial. |
